Ah lunch buffet…
Usually I tend to stay away from buffets in general (just not because I feel the urge to eat more but also it gets bored after trying the same variety offered in the buffet). But after my other half cajoled me into lunch buffet at Indian restaurant Ruchi, I decided to check it out. We were there on a Sunday afternoon, and got in early to beat the crowd - we were there at about 11:45 pm and by 12:15 pm the place was pretty crowded. We were glad that we got in early. The place was clean with wooden furniture and ample space between tables to move around. The waiters were very courteous and seem to be helpful as well - our little one spilled some dessert and the waiter attending us was very helpful and understanding..
Regarding food, the food was really good and had ample variety to choose from. A bit spicy to my taste - but then again I think my palate has mellowed a bit these days
Here are the few food items there were at the buffet
- Upma
- Mysore Bonda
- Idli
- Onion uttapam
- Rice
- Sambar
- 2 chutneys
- Beans curry
- Dhaal curry
- Palak curry
- Channa curry
- Allu Gopi
- Veggie Palak
- Dhaal Makani
- Naan
For the carnivorous among us,
- Tandoori chicken
- Goat curry
- Chili chicken
- Chicken curry
Oh and for dessert
- Carrot halva
- Banana/Strawberry pudding
- Mango Lassi
I think for about $11 it was really worth it. But don’t be surprised if the waiter dropped your check as soon as you got a plateful food or as soon as you started eating - yeah it was really annoying
May be someday I will have to check out their food from their full menu and see how good it is….will definitely write when that happens.

Real good review! Thanks Sasi.
I loved their buffet. It is exactly the same items they have on the menu. I think it is better to go to the buffet. Especially, if you have not eaten Indian food before. It gives you the opportunity to sample food and not get stuck with something you don’t like. I am also a vegeterian and most of the items I was able to eat. That was awesome. I didn’t have the problem with them dropping off the check. I may have eaten there more frequently than you. I also, don’t think Mango Lassi is considered a desert, just a drink.
Ruchi Ibdian restaurent is the best one among the indian restaurents in kansas and missouri state because of its quality food and richnessis taste. I ahve been dining there since 6 months every weeknd with my boyfriend and i liked that food a lot . Especially spicy hot hyderabadi biryani was really good.Rava masala dosa was one of my favourites. The managemnt was really good and takes a good care of the customers
Worst treatment ever. Manager came checking the plates
We went as a group of 5 to Ruchi at 9:15 PM. They welcomed us in and took the orders. We ordered for 4 Naan’s along with other items. They forgot to bring the NAAN. They brought the bill while we were having food and asked us to pay as it was closing time. The bill had the orders for the Naans. I asked them to bring the Naans as we were waiting for a long time. The manager replied that the Naans were already served. I politely informed that we hadnt got it yet. He came to our table checked every plate and went and had a discussion with his chefs. He came again and checked every plate on the table and asked us what happened to the two Naans that were served. I had brought everyone for a treat, so i patiently replied that we had not got it. Finally he said that they cannot cook anything more and they are cancelling the order. We were just flabbergasted.
I would advice everyone to keep away from this restaurant.
