Having gone through replacing 3 hard drives on my home computers I feel the itch to write this blog.
I am sure everyone reading this blog has gone through hard drive woes at least one time during the lifetime of your computer. If not, good for you but do continue reading.
I guess the more you use your computer the more it’s prone to breakdown…it’s due the generated heat, poor ventilation, or numerous other reason – that’s not this post is about.
Time to backup that hard drive
With everything gone digital these days its better to have a backup if your hard drive quit working someday.
When my 1st hard drive failed almost 5 years ago, I was at lost – I didn’t have a hard drive backup then. I remember loosing tons of my photography pictures, my emails and such. Since then I have started backing up my data on my computer whichever/whenever I feel is important. I use a nifty program by name SyncBackSE. It’s available as both freeware and paid version.
The idea is to backup your data at least once a week. I do it once every night – I know it may sound crazy but having gone through the pain before I seem to be over cautious these days.
There is a very good tutorial on how to back up, synchronize, and restore your data here.
You can learn more about SyncBack here.
