No I am not talking about $$$ here, but I am referring to analog TV signal
With analog broadcast ending on Feb 17, 2009 what comes to mind is, what will happen to my Analog Television?
Will my television go blank? NO
One using cable service and/or satellite service to view their television won’t be affected but those among us using over the air antenna will definitely be affected. But The Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) has launched the
Digital-to-Analog Converter Box Coupon Program (Coupon Program).
Here is what the Coupon Program reads
Starting January 1, 2008, all U.S. households will be eligible to request up to two coupons, worth $40 each, to be used toward the purchase of up to two, digital-to-analog converter boxes.
One will have to purchase a set-top converter box that will allow us to continue watching FREE “over-the-air” television on an analog set.
You can find more information on the Coupon Program here.
Also there is a website to help us with the Analog to Digital transition - link.
