I live in the chicago area where the winter time is really harsh and I have to keep my curry leaf plant inside. By late winter, my plants are infested with scales. Is there anything I can do to prevent scales?

It all depends on where you live.

Try local nursery during spring season.

Other option would be to try local Indian community events - like last fall we had people selling jasmine plants and banana tree plants during a picnic meet here in St. Louis.

Best bet would be to ask friends if they could give you a small plant - that's how I got mine about 5 years ago from a very good friend :)

Good luck.

Hi Sasi:
I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The winters here are quite severe, but the summers are quite warm. The only way that I know that the Curry Leaf plant can grow here is in containers with ample artificial lighting.

I am looking for curry leaf plant seeds and if you could send me some when the weather is mild, i.e., in April or May I would be much obliged.

I have been following your blog for sometime now and find the info very interesting. Awsome pictures. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
